You would have seen many 3d films in theatres,i know they are pretty amazing when rockets and other stuff fly by you,a hand comes out of the screen to grab you,all that stuff was confined to films only.Until, Nvidia , market leader of the graphics industry unveiled their awesome product"Nvidia Geforce 3d vision"This technology is not new,it has already been tested in 2002-2004 when lcds were not prevalent.With a constant refresh rate of 60 hz in CRT s the 3d was impossible cos the monitor would flicker too much and will cause a big headache.But after the advent of LCDs refresh rates have not been a problem and thus comes the revamped Nvidia 3d vision for suiting the LCDs having 100hz or more than 100 hz refresh rate.

Basically,The Geforce 3d vision kit includes the 3d glasses , a 120 hz refresh rate LCD monitor from samsung,and other stuff required to sync the glasses and the pc.

What happens when you turn on 3d vision?

The stereoscopic 3d option has been now enabled in the 186.18 forceware drivers.That enables you to play games in 3d!!! yeah thats right... you can now play games in 3 dimension with this baby!!! All you have to do is purchase this kit and you are now ((3d)) enabled in Games as well as some movies and pictures!!It is available for 475 euros.A bit costly but definitely worth it.

The 3d vision technology:

The shutter in the lcd glasses recieve the information from the pc and get in sync with the monitor refresh rate,in this case its 120 hz.so it alternately opens and closes in each eye 60 times per second.its so fast that it cannot be visible to the human eye.but the people at guru3d.com managed to capture the alternating of the shutters with a high speed camera.For further information on how a human brain is manipulated for 3d imagery visit guru3d.com.
