MY NEW RIG :
Hey ppl....
Last post i talked about the future of mobile computing... now i ve really taken myself to the future of real computing with my new rig... :)
Well i had been researching for the past few days on the internet and even gone to ritchie street whenever i got the chance to... i had decided once that i would heavily invest on a graphic card instead of a good processor and a mobo... then it suddenly struck to me " hello there next gen intel processors"... thanks to delta peripherals' website www.deltapage.com i got hold of the street prices of the new range intel corei3 and corei5.i7 processors and their respective mobos... after reading several reviews on guru3d.com and anandtech.com, i was simply amazed with the power of the new architecture(Quick path interconnect, turbo boost,ddr3 .. etc) and then i decided for final to ditch my graphic card plans since i already own a decent one(nvidia 8 series) and i decided to go for the corei3 for its awesome bang for the buck(value for money)...
ok, now let me explain the process of how to buy an assembled system in chennai :P
First thing i would advice is to
1.buy at ritchie street(if you dunno wat i m talking about, google it up)they give the best prices on the parts that are needed to install your own system...
2.Do some research on the net about the processor , mobo, monitors, speakers.. whatever you need to buy and roughly convert the newegg.com prices into Rs. and just keep it for reference...
3.Next i would ask you to do some quotation hunting at ritchie street shops where they are more than happy to offer you quotations(prices of the parts) and then you choose the best prices that suit your budget and decide what and where to buy :)
This is what i did to zero down on the best price and the best place to buy :)
Ok enough of all the advice and gyaan.. lets get down to my rig :
This is what i bought and the prices:
Processor: Intel corei3 530 running at 2.93 Ghz and 4 MB cache
Price: Rs. 5600
Motherboard: Intel H55TC Motherboard with DDR3 support and Capable of supporting the onchip corei3 graphics.. its processor socket is 1156 pin that supports i3 500series,i5 600 700 series and i7 800 series...
Price: Rs.5500
RAM: 2 x (2) GB DDR3 1333mhz some unknown brand you can always rely upon ;P running at dual channel bandwidth :)
Price : Rs. 2650 x 2 = 5300
DELL 22" LCD ST2210(HDMI input, supports full HD)
Price : Rs.9400
Creative inspire 5.1 T6160
Price : Rs. 3500
Seagate 1TB internal harddisk SATA
Price : Rs.4100
a new CABINET
Price : Rs.600
And thats about it.. rest of the things like DVD writer and KB,Mouse i already had so, i wouldn wanna waste on those...
It nicely totalled upto app. 34K Rs. this is all including taxes and this was IMHO the best price you can get for this config :)
So, am now enjoyin the HD glory with awesome speed of the Corei3 and DDR3 Ram... Really i can feel the difference guys... check out the new generation of processors and please oh please get rid of your lazy ol' core2 processors :)
